HI THERE DOC  A FRIEND HAD THIS COIN IN WITH SOME OLD JEWELRY WHEN HIS MOTHER PASSED AWAY AND HAS ASKED  ME TO ID IT FOR HIM  I TOOK A LOOK BUT FOUND NOTHING.   HOPE YOU CAN HELP AS HE HAS ASKED IF IT IS VALUABLE  AS IT SEEMS STRANGE WHY SHE WOULD OF KEPT IT ..... I TOOK A PIC  OF BOTH SIDES FOR YOU   MANY THANKS

Look's like a George 1st farthing  or  half penny Digga, dated1723 .might have had sentimental value for her,as for value now as far as farthings go they are quite collectable and get better prices than a lot of the other Georgian copper coins.There was a 1723 farthing rarity in that the R in Rex was stamped on it's side ? yours shows kings head but looks like the letter's are worn away so i can't see anything.See what Peter thinks,hope this helps.

Nice coin Digga. I don't think I can add to your ID simon, except to say that if it's about 23mm it's a farthing and if it's 27mm it's a halfpenny.

I love finding farthings, something nice about them. Would be nice to find one in that condition though!
