Coin 1 is an Edward I Irish penny, Dublin mint
Coin 2 is an Alexander Scottish penny
Coin 3 is a James I penny ???

Very nice indeed David, I would have gone Eddy I halfpenny going by the size and possibly Robert the Bruce on the middle one ;)

Not common as such but not really a rare find, the closer you get to ports or cities then the more you seem to find so trade is the likeliest reason ;)

The Irish one is type 1b - pellet before EDW and three pellets below bust - Scottish you can see the end of 'Alexander' - [ALEX]ANDER DEI GR - reverse REX SCOTORVM

those two almost look like hoard coins - were they found in damp land too?

Thanks yes they were found in damp and frosty conditions,  shining the light on them when taking a picture makes them stand out a bit ,

i had the discussion with dale a while ago    generaly in n wales the hammered  are in decent condition compared to  what else i  see from other finds posted on here the ground conditions must be ok here
