Title: Last Few Trips Post by: celticspikey on May 22, 2016, 02:07:06 PM Here are a few pieces from a couple of trips, found on a gentle sloping field above a small roman site, seeded with maize. I wish all roman coins come up in such nice condition as the one in picture...I can't make my mind up on the enamelled mount looks a bit roman but could be medieval any thoughts welcome as usual. Also is it me or does the bronze piece show eyes or is it upside down and part of some other decorated item ?? so many questions Lol...

The bronze bit does seem to have eyes and eyebrows. It reminds me of the portrait on Henry 2nd pennies. Wonder if there's a connection. The enamelled stud/mount is a tough one?
