Hi

Been stuck in bed with flu for the last couple of days and decided I had to get out of the house for a quick half hour detecting today. Went to my new permission hoping to find a hammy ( I found a cut short cross there last week) and although the hammies didn't materialise I did find several pre-decimals, a 2p piece, buckles etc.

I don't know what the three items in the last two pictures are  Huh They look military  Huh. Not sure if it's clear in the picture but one looks to be shaped like a wolf or boars head.

Would be grateful if someone could help with an ID.

Cheers
Charlie

Some interesting finds. First one is a Royal Fusiliers badge.

Grenadiers? tut tut tut shame on you Silky  Grin
The centre badge is from the Royal Fusiliers, and the Boars head is only part of a larger badge belonging (I think) to the North Auckland Mounted Rifles (N.Z.).
That's one productive day you had, well done Wink

I'm wondering whether the other item is a strap end? What's the other side like?

Thanks for all the replies - much appreciated. Very pleased with my finds today, it's not often I'm lucky enough to discover so many interesting items in such a short space of time.

Doc....I will take another picture of the back, is it this item you are referring to?

Thanks again
Charlie

The plot thickens. Thanks for looking anyway. Might try detecting there again  tomorrow  if I'm feeling better, maybe find something similar......forever the optomist!
