Title: Attending rallies for non detecting reasons
Post by: ysbytymike on September 22, 2011, 11:09:35 PM
I'd quite like to turn up on some of the rallies armed with just my camera.
Sort of spend the day getting HQ detecting images of individuals and groups. Location photographs (before and after) to demonstrate the minimal impact we as detector users have on the places we visit and so on.
Apart from the obvious asking permissions during the briefing period (easier to get everyones attention at this point) Would the attendance fee still be required, are there likely to be any forum issues involved or perhaps something I've not thought of?

Cheers

Mike

I think that is a great Idea. I know Geoff, Rob and Neil like to pursue the correct way of recording finds and I was planning on taking a lot of pictures at Kinnersley. I am sure Rob will verify that most landowners have been left more than happy after we have gone and I am sure a follow up article would be a great idea, even a chat with the landowner.

That's a terrific idea ysbytymike. Of course you wouldn't need to pay the rally fee. I can't really see any problems with what you're planning to do. One or two of our members are a little shy but I think they'll let you know if they don't want to be featured in your pics.
