Welcome to the forum H2K, if you can't find anything in 5000 acres of land I'd suggest you stick to shooting. Grin

I support Digga's recommendation of the Garrett Ace 250, the lads on here who use them are always singing there praises and they can be bought 2nd hand at a good price.

after looking at the garrett ace 250 it looks a nice machine, i would like to start at the next level of detectors, something around the £250-£300
what would you suggest.

Hiya Hunter , welcome to the site, there is a Hereford club I believe although I am not a member for my own reasons, with five thousand acres I don't think you need to belong to another club you've just joined the best there is  Wink
Anything you want to know just send me or Walt a pm.
P.S. hope you have an interest in old shotgun caps too, you will find plenty of them on shooting ground  Grin

Welcome to the forum 2000

I think my advice regarding Buying a new machine would be, dont buy a new one If your not 100% sure thats the machine for you.
If you buy a used machine and you dont get on with it or its not for you at least youll get your money.

Good hunting 2000
