Welcome to the site Kevin! You don't need a better detector to join us on a Rally - there will be all models amd a vast price range there as a rule.

Quite a few of the posters and myself occasionally do the beaches - great place to learn your machine.

Cheers

Welcome to the site Kevin, don't be put off by the machines, you only have to walk over it and dig it up, 95% of the finds are within 5 inches of the surface, just keep trying with the machine you have and the finds will come. Good luck!

Hi Kevin

Welcome to the Detecting Wales forum.

As Neil said there all sorts of machine used at rallys you wont look out of place at all.
Most finds are found  in the 1st 5 inchs aprox.  and your Tracker will easy do that.
I havnt used the Tracker V but i had a Fast Tracker for a while and i was very impressed.
You have as much chance of finding good items as anyone else you have to walk over it to find it !

Why dont you put your name down in case someone drops out of the Blackwood Rally ? you could meet forum members and get some valuable practise on your BH
Good Luck in your new hobby Kevin !

all the best

Hi Kev , welcome to the forum. You've started your hobby the best way. You've joined Detecting Wales  Wink  Anything you need to know just ask, have a good look around the forum, theres plenty to read.

Put your name down for the Blackwood Rally fella, theres normally people that drop out and Its the ideal place to meet like-minded people and get great sound advice. Dont be kidded that everyones running around with £1000 plus machines, as Steve has already said, most of the finds will be in the first 5" .
