Hi all,

I have joined today after meeting a very helpful guy down at Caswell. Did not get his name but he gave me details of this forum, along with some advice on how to use my machine, which is an E-trac. Please get in touch again.
I bought it a year ago and have only been out 4 times to local beaches around the Gower.
This forum will hopefully enable me to get more valuable advice on how to get the best from my detector to allow me to find more interesting and valuable items rather than the ring pulls and bottle tops found earlier, I did however find 32p Smiley Smiley.
I look forward to meeting up with more members at rallies during the year, thanks in advance.

I think I have missed the next rally in Old Sobury, will try to make the next one. On average how many rallies are held each year and are they nationwide?

Rallies come whenever they can gain permission mark,. Some are just like the busses. You wait for one then your stuck for choice  Grin
You got a good machine buddy, and live in great area. Langland, Caswel and Brachlet bay will be at your mercy when you get use to it... Wink
One word of warning though. Beware of Badgers when searching the beaches  Roll Eyes

Hi Charles,

Not sure if I just inboxed a reply to you, still trying to find my way around the forum.
If not, thanks again for the advice today, much appreciated. Will not be able to make the meeting as I work away Mon-Fri, thanks for the invite though. Trying to get out again tomorrow for more practice.
Hopefully bump into you again or at one of the rallies.

Welcome to DW Mark. Do you live on Gower ? It's a fantastic place. I used to live on Werganrow farm just east of the airport on Fairwood common, and spend many happy days down the many beaches. Oh, and the nights on Cefn Bryn, looking out on the world  Smiley  Hope to see you at some rallies  Smiley

My Wife's family live in Upper Killay, we live out at Cross Hands, only half hour away so it is quite local for me to get to the Gower coast.
Hopefully bump into you at one of the rallies this year.
