Title: XP Deus Coil Question

Iv`e just bought the new 11" coil for the Deus, my question is,could i run the battery flat in my 9" and keep it,? and then one day if i needed it i could charge it up and use it ?

Simple answer is no, as it states in the Deus manual;

"If the detector has to be placed in storage, first charge the batteries to
half of their capacity (40 to 70%).
Ideally you should then discharge/recharge them at least once a month.
Do not store your device for long periods with discharged batteries!"

why not just keep it charged and take it with you as a spare

just in case your 11" develops any problems out in the field

Mike makes a good point and the coils weighs next to nothing.

If you are going to a new site the coil choice can vary.

In long grass,heavy stubble and rough ploughed ground the smaller coil is often best. ;) :)  Jerry.
