Im sure Chef Geoff can come in on this one, looks to me like ancient footings top and bottom of pin, this is the small top field of my old mans farm, Any thoughts anyone?

It does look like some sort of foundation is lying there? My advice would be to stick a small hole in there and see what they're made of (brick or stone). The turning from the main road isn't "natural" either, roads are, where possible, made straight, that road comes off the main road and almost immediately turns south, this may point to the road originally coming off the main road and leading to a point near those foundations Wink

I've found you quite often get 'out of place' random trees close to where buildings stood. You have some close to these foundations, I'd have a mooch around, looks good...
