the 1970's were great.droughts, strikes, power cuts, all the pubs an clubs full, open collieries and only two cars in the street.
happy days lol
goin down the shop to buy fags for the farmer at the age of eight, you knew everyone in the sreet.no peadophyles just a dodgy uncle who turned up at xmas every year who nobody spoke of the rest of the year.your grannies mates all had beards an moustaches an had to kiss you on new years eve.happy days lol
second hand clothes from a fat guy down the road who was 5 years older than you, your mother telling you top pick a stick from the hedge to beat you with, only heating in the house was a coal fire in the living room ( just chuck another coat on the bed ).
waking up with a 3ft snow drift in the passage ,happy days.
Yeah those were the days Badger. Tell that to the kids of today and they wouldn't believe you  Roll Eyes

I remember  a gang of us swimming in the river in Ynysmeudwy, and somebody found a detonator
and threw it on the campfire, he was in hospital for weeks, nearly died.........Happy days lol.
Stealing my mothers forks from the cutlery drawer to go down the river to stab eels, forking as
we used to call it. Tomato sauce sandwiches, Patched knees on my school trousers when I used to fall over and rip them.

yep i can relate to all that , making peg guns going camping for 3-4 days at a time , and your parents not worrying where you are , you could leave your front door unlocked ,and leave your keys in the car , swimming and drinking water from the streams , having a tin bath in front of the fire , outside toilets , putting unopened tins of beans or cans of hairspray on your camping fire , sleeping rough with no tents ,borrowing Wink milk from somebodys door step in the morning or from the local shop , and borrowing Wink comics and newspapers from the shop at 4.30 in the morning  yep they were the days , corona pop with 5p on the bottle when you take it back to the shop lol

Out all day at age 9 on beach, returning pop bottles to
buy sweets. Casing from station  and coach park to holiday
camps.ladybirds everywhere 76. Dens by the river. Summers
that never seemed to end. Happy days.
