Hi Folks
Me and Relicron had a mixed weekends detecting as you will see from my finds photos.  We had a good day on Saturday, with me finding a wire brooch (ID please), a small Roman coin (ID please), a two shillings, a silver 3d, musket balls, cartwheel penny and lots of other bits and pieces, especially buttons.  My Roman coin and the wire brooch were found in the same field that Ron found his Roman coin last weekend.  We went to a different farm on Sunday but only found buttons, a few grotty coins, lots of lead and the usual rubbish.
Many farmers have started their grain harvest so we should be detecting on stubble very shortly.  Not the rape stubble of course, as the stalks are standing at knee height after cutting.  Good luck to everyone for the coming weeks and Happy Digging!!!!  Tom.

You did have a busy time. Some nice interesting finds there.  The brooch, I think, is a love knot and prob. late 1800's to early 1900's. Interesting medal, can you see who it is.?

The big round thing in the bottom right of last pici caught my eye.  I found one similar ages ago and no one could say what is was. At the time, in the ground, I thought I'd found a bomb.  Roll Eyes  The nearest I.D was a filter off a very old style tractor. see my pici.

Hi Val and Congerman
Thanks for the comments.  We did have a busy time and dug lots of holes, all on pasture which was ploughed about three years ago.
The larger item you've mentioned Val is an alloy plug from a trailers light socket and thanks for the possible ID on the brooch, I have only been able to find one similar on the PAS website, so not too common.  Can't make out the head on the medal, but I can see that he has a goaty type beard or a very pointy chin.   Cheers and Happy digging.!! Tom.

Ha Ha Ha  Grin   Now you've said that I can see what you mean.  Size does matter after all  Roll Eyes  It looks bigger in the pic.

The one I found was considerably bigger.  Gave me a bit of a scare at the time.  Can you imagine,  little me in the middle of a field, in the middle of nowhere and no mobile phone back then.  All sorts went through my silly head  Roll Eyes
Just one of the reasons Hubby insisted on me having a mobile with a tracker.  On board tracker and at least 3 of the Apps we tried are useless but at least he can call me. Wink
