Lovely short cross Roger!

I am dreadful at ID'ing these - Peter will be along shortly or another DW Expert to help.

Nice way to start the year

You are not the only one - The Plantagenet coinage of 1180-1247 all looks exactly the same to me bar the odd pellets or a longer staff etc. Not sure if this helps at all - but I came across it the other day when trying to ID three of my own. Gave up in the end and cried HELP Doc! to Peter. He came back with Reign, Mint, Class and the name of the person who lost it about an hour later!

Class 1 are Henry II coins issued from 1180 to the death of the king in 1189
Classes 2-4 are issues of Richard I issued from 1189-1199
Classes 4-6 are issues of John issued from 1199-1216
Classes 6-8 are issues of Henry III issued from 1216-1247

Hi.

It's quite a scarce one

Henry III

moneyer is SIMOND ON RVLA

Simon D (or Simond) of Rhuddlan

Nice one - and for a coin of Rhuddlan it's well struck too.
