Thank you all for your comments.  I looked here http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/pics/hamm/ed4/4d/index.html for identification and cannot see what peterh said.  It would be handy to have a link to another site if you used one peterh, or any other sites used by any of you for coin identification.
