Nice finds ian.

Will post mine up later on, though a mixture of buckles coins buttons and a lead seal, spent most of my time talking  Grin met a pleasant bunch of people.

Thankyou rob and DW great day out, got back to my van at 4.45pm everybody hadgone !

On my way back to van saw this hole someone had dug out more or less centre of gateway, terrible  Roll Eyes some of the hole filling was awful. When you consider the conditions were ideal for pressing clods back, there isnt much excuse.
It only took a few seconds jumping onto it to press it back  Huh
The number of detectorists putting rubbish back in their holes seems to be the norm.

Other than that it was a good day out. Grin.

Yip, I had to fill in numerous holes that were badly filled, clodges replaced upside down etc. I know it was muddy and no hole filling was going to look pretty, but there is no excuse for that type of filling.

We'll monitor this and if it continues, we will revert back to smaller more manageable acreage and member attendance.

Bloody annoying especially as so many people want to attend these well organised rally's there really is no excuse for this or the discarding of rubbish around filled holes which I have come across several times is there no way plastic bins can be put out for the scrap as a way of discouraging this?

I found a few holes with junk in the bottom, It's not hard to put it in your pocket and dispose of it. Bins would be a good that way the farmers can see how much junk and rubbish we have removed from his fields.

I had to fill in a few holes and remove rubbish left by the side of them, very disrespectful to every one there and  especially the farmer how was kind enough to allow us to dig on his land Angry

On quite a few rallies i've been to , I've ended up filling other peoples holes, or stamping down
clodges that have been put back in the hole but not compacted, It  really is one of my pet hates

Any large pieces of iron etc or even horse shoes, doesnt take long to place them at the base of a hedge out of harms way, most of us walk to a hedge for a pee, so why not to dump the iron. Huh
