Hi guys, thanks for todays Rally. Finds were a bit light, and the coins I found were a little... Well, not the best. But the spur I found was okay and the unfortunately the roman coin I found was also a bit worse for wear.

Never mind, it was a day out and a chance to meet friends, both  new and old.

Here's to the next one.

Yeah, not the best of rallies to be sure! I managed a blank coin, two buttons and well that was pretty much it.

I do apologise for sleeping late, unfortunately thats what I get for mixing Tramadol with other multi-coloured tablets.

Back to the drawing board for me I'm afraid, the land is not being kind at the moment, however I will keep looking.

Don't know what you lot are moaning about. Those of you who can remember it, cast your minds back to the Carmarthen Rally. Huh Roll Eyes

Now that's one to forget  Grin   Mind you it was HOT, very HOT. If nothing we did get some Sun Burn.

Great write up again Neil, unfortunately I was unable to attend today.
The land DW struggled to find looked promising, but looks like it did not provide the finds that some people were expecting, well that's detecting, as in life you win some, lose some. Great company is much more important than finds.
Looking forward to the next rally.

May not have been a major success but still enjoyed the day. Found 2 George I coins, a farthing and halfpenny, worse for wear. A great button with a tudor style rose engraved on it and a copper ring. Thanks for a fun day, loved walking across the streams.

George penny, George III halfpennies, Victoria farthing, George V sixpence, part of a Wright & Butler oil lamp, an anchor on a gilded button (military sailor's uniform?). A very crushed mini crotal type bell, lots of plain buttons, an oddly patterned copper item that broken (not by me) and not in it's correct orientation in the photo. When I dug up the first bit covered in mud I thought 'clothes fastener' then the second bit came up I thought 'dagger chape' then noticed they would have been part of the same thing, so back to square one not knowing what it is.  Roll Eyes A selection of some in the pic below.

We just do not get the 'resizing' art of piccies etc and so attached may be the pictures of our finds from the rally on Saturday.
Thanks to all the organisers of the rally, we had a good day apart from the mud - there may not have been a lot of it but we managed to find ALL of it and got stuck at one time, having to dig vigourously as welly was well stuck.

The sun was a welcome visitor as were the comments when we returned to the car carrying a tray of eggs.  Most went along the lines of 'thats one helluva machine you got there' and they would nod at the eggs. it did make us chuckle.

Well, am gonna try pressing the dreaded post button now to see if I followed the resizing correctly (fingers crossed)
