Title: Coflein site
Post by: magpie on October 01, 2012, 09:45:34 AM
Hi all

Just an idea to help those who are new to the detecting hobby or even those who are unaware that there is a very useful site that is run by the Royal Commission on ancient and historical monuments, This site shows the location of various finds ranging from villas through to individual coins. The map of Wales that allows the user to zoom in/out, pan or ti gain the description of the item(s) found including ariel photos that provide a better insight into the area. In addition to this there is also its historical information which has always proved to be invaluable when researching any area. So to access this site you can either put coflein into your search engine (google) or go to www.coflein.gov.uk (http://www.coflein.gov.uk) So for those who are unsure or unaware of what is on or near to your potential land, l suggest this site would be a good start.

Thanks

Magpie
