Will hot glue peel off a bickle with no damage to it , I want to mount my buckles in a frame but dont know how best to .

Any ideas?

Rob what a coincidence im planning on doing exactly the same thing. my plan is to make up frame, put green baize over 3mm ply then fix buckles to green backing by using invisible thread pushed thro with needle then tied at back, (you can get this from any type of sewing shop...your misses may already have some)
that way no damage to artefacts....great mind eh......or have we both got too much time on our hands.
Mickeycoin gave me some lovely buckles to put in frame also.
I planned on buckles through out the ages as opposed to only using buckles from one specific era

"Buckles through the ages"........Yes Kev, you have far too much time on your hands.

Taff, I have used a glue gun on mounting items before and it works fine, just apply to the base first and leave for 30 seconds before applying the buckle, this will mean it will peel off easier.

Why not try it with a rubbish buckle first then you will be able to see if it works and how long it holds in place for

Nice one guys ,

Z I cant believe youre doing the same thing , right down to the Green Biaze and Frame, only doing a few buckle (only got a few buckles  Roll Eyes )
