Quattro was my first machine, had a bit of luck with it but its quite slow recovery so you have to keep that in mind, Are you finding many hammered coins? if not try this option, Press your coin and jewelry mode which is set in conduct sounds accept all numbers you now in all metal and conduct sounds (you can leave -10 which will knock out all medium to large iron, but you will get the dreaded nulling) Iron will be a HIGH tone and small bronze and hammerd coins will be a low growl and unmissable. You have a chance of missing large silver/copper using this so you should check the meter, high tone high numbers will be good targets. Also I found that using manual sensitivity made a big difference to depth over Auto. Perhaps this method is not for everyone but an option. Smiley Forgot to mention I found using the High Trash Density setting made the machine totally erratic.

Mike, i still prefer mine over the E-trac on the beach.
Have a look on the Mine lab owners Forum, they have there own quattro and safari section.
All the answers you'll ever want are there, including some posted by me Smiley

Watch this, highly recommended

Don't forget, what applies to the safari applies to your Quattro Wink

Good link Salty, The safari and quattro have the same features, except the high trash densitiy feature on the quattro I found useless! I think minelab have improved this on the safari. Smiley

i tried my pro coil on the quattro, it made a hell of a difference, you could actually use the high trash option with it on the beach, Cant comment on land, i never tried it in high (don't know why!) it made it very stable and deep though, and a lot lighter too. but to be fair  the big SEF. was also very stable and deep.
