Title: Horseshoe Shaped object for ID Please Post by: MuckMan on February 06, 2012, 01:34:25 PM Hi there, I recently found this object and after searching the net and asking a few people I still cannot identify it ???. If anyone could ID it or has any ideas what it is, that would be great. Thanks :)

What is the metal Muckman? It has a modern look about it and could be so, but if silver or billon I really wouldn't rule out a child's neck ring from the iron age. One for the FLO I think :-\ Title: Re: Horseshoe Shaped object for ID Please Post by: MuckMan on February 07, 2012, 11:24:09 PM Thanks for the replies, I have cleaned up a bit of the broken edge and it does seem to be bronze/copper colour underneath I've never heard of billon before so looked it up on wikipedia and it could be that 8). So I have contacted the land owners this evening told them that I am going to contact the FLO for our area. Hopefully he will be able to identify it!! Will let you all know the outcome. Would be great if its a neck ring / neck band of importance ;D.
