40 years detecting and have been a full timer for around 28 years having decided to give it a go for six months back in the mists of time !

Now tend to detect the U.K. during the summer and spend three months abroad in the winter. Have covered much of the U.S., Europe from France across to Turkey, North Africa and recently spent a month in New Zealand detecting the beaches and doing a little gold panning.

I use most of the detectors on the market, motion, non motion and pulse. Have just had a parting of the ways with the Whites V3 !

Hey guys this chap is very knowledgeable about detectors, anything you want to know Brian is your man.
Spent some time with you, John and Roy down at Rhosilli bay in case you were wondering who it was!

Welcome to the forum Brian, a full time detectorist eh? I bet you've got some stories to tell......

You've just had a parting of the ways with the Whites V3? They've only just come on the market....something wrong?

Richy.

I don't know where the V3 fits. If you have a couple of good high end detectors you will be matching the performance already. If your just starting off and want a "do it all" it makes a good stab at it but at what a price ! Then a beginner may well find it hard to extract the performance. Lots of inbuilt programmes but you still have to get your hands dirty until people start to exchange programmes.

I thought the headphones uncomfortable, I would not pay the extra without trying them on. In the U.S. without headphones the price is not that much more than the DFX 300. Lucky we all earn so much money in Britain !

Seems you can now get a 15% in the States. I wonder what the U.K. dealers will be allowed to offer ?

Hi U.K. Brian , welcome to the forum . Interesting what you have to say about the Whites V3 , I was wondering what was different about it compared to the other machines at that price end ( i use an M6 myself) Could it be they are making the machine more complicated than it need be ?

welcome to the forum Brian, good to see someone onboard with your experience! I was looking at the whites v3 , is it much better than the DFX? I've got a DFX and after what you've said about the v3 not sure i want one now!
