Title: Saxon Penny Post by: BottyBurp (Kris) on February 19, 2009, 06:11:21 PM Can you help with an ID on this penny please?
Found today in pasture, I'm not sure why it would have the two holes in it and the reverse has a gold "Tint" to it! Thanks in advance BB Title: Re: Saxon Penny Post by: KANE (DES) on February 19, 2009, 06:16:44 PM I botty the coins could have been made into a necklace or bangle at some time i believe it might be a edward the confessor radiate type coin 1042-1066 hope its of some help DES
Title: Re: Saxon Penny Post by: llanelli club on February 19, 2009, 06:30:04 PM the gold glint is tarnishing which is fairly common on silver strangely it yellows as well as the usual black oxidisation.lovely coin there.

Title: Re: Saxon Penny Post by: mickycoin "mick" on March 05, 2009, 03:24:33 PM hi botty-burp. greatcoin, would agree that it is edward the confessor radiate type spink number 1173, again the holes would suggest it was mounted on a bracelet, like the old silver 3pences, so i would go back and look for the rest if was you. but what a great coin anyway, thanks for the look mick
