Nice finds. It's not Wiliam and Mary. I think it's a token, but I haven't tracked it down yet - working on it...

Phew - that took a bit of searching   Grin

It's a Lutwyche’s Birmingham halfpenny token. A similar one here with info:

Hi all

Thanks Geoff for making this local. Wick was my first rally and I was excited and spent all day trying to find my biggie.   My first find was a Vicky penny and I had the help of Peter H to pinpoint it, thanks Peter. Grin  I too found cutlery ~ a knife. Other finds were 50p piece, batteries, nails,  oh where was my biggie!  Cry Was a bit spooked by the horses during mid dig and had to make it over a stile pretty damn quick, I then realised I forgot I had chocolate in my pocket.  The horses had found thir biggie! It was my first day out with my detector (Garrett Ace 250) affectionately knows as Grace, so was getting used to her. Stubble field was a bit hard for me but I did have lots of signals but no finds of significance. I'd like to thanks all those who welcomed me and stopped to have a chat.  Big thanks to Bob who loaned me his spade and offered to grind mine down. Wink

See you next time
