Hi folks
Turned up this £1 coin sized lead disc,
Approx 8 inches deep (AT pro)
No obvious marks.
Any thoughts
Cheers
Adrian

Hi Artcat, these lead blanks seem to be quite common,I know when i posted my similar finds on the forum I was told that they were weights that were sewn in to garments, normally ladies dresses. The same sort of idea when lead weights are sewn into the hems of curtains to make them hang correctly.
I was to told that the reason we find so many of them is that in many cases old clothes were torn into rags a ploughed into the soil, supposedly to help break down clay deposits in the soil.
Hope this helps.   👍
