Hi all I went to a friends last night to see his recent finds, I took lots of photos but there not the best as the light was poor Undecided they should be good enough for a id.

Iv got something in mind for this one but id like to see what others think, its quite a large item, I placed a £1 for size Wink

That's an odd one Dale and can't say I've ever seen the like before but if I had to guess a purpose my first guess would be the end piece of a reliquary Huh

I thought until I saw the pound that it might be a boot scraper - then I thought it might be a trivet.

Cheers all for your thoughts Wink Iv been thinking along the lines of others, iv seen items like it but not this big, to me it looks Saxon? my mate likes to get a few finds up together and take them in to Kurt Adams for his thoughts.

Hopefully I can add to this thread  Wink

I know it's a different shape and it's Spanish but it's a good comparison.
