alright peeps ,i was wondering how the beachies been doing this year as i have not hit a gold ring or months now,i have been working long hrs and been ill so i have a bit of an excuse lol
the weather obviously has effected the fresh drops but my regular producing beaches seem to be really barren this year, the funny thing is im hitting pre decimal every trip and silver but cant get down to the good stuff,
my etrac needs a service maybe hmmmm.
  good luck peeps

Odd one badge, I've had three good gold rings, two George 111 coins and a William 111 half penny  this year, off the sandy stuff, plus silver and junk rings, and haven't really got going, spits and spats, lucky to get out twice a month I think it's still out there, we just have to start hitting different parts of the beach, don't go by the book, keep swinging buddy, and it will all come back to you.

I've found this year really bad too - although as I've never found a precious metal ring, then in that respect it's no different to any other year - however, I've found no hammered this year at all, and very little roman.

Have found a number of things I've not found before, but almost all of the copper variety.

last 2 outings 1 x 5p no signal lying on the sand and 1 1970 10p no bottle caps or ring pulls, all down to bad weather this year also have not met any other detectorists either, last year averaging 5 a night.

Last time on the beach I did quite well, for me.  But after the last time I TRIED to get on the beach I decided I'd leave them alone till Sept.
I went, I saw, I came back home.  Twice round the car park and just managed to slip into a space as someone was pulling out. I walked over to the top to 'eye it up' and thought, No way Jose'.  I've never seen so many Moms, Dads, Kids, little Sailing boats, Canoes. You name it and it was there and mostly on the sand.   Bodes well for future finds though  Wink
