Title: Four hours today
Post by: Christoph1945 on July 20, 2014, 05:44:51 PM
Normally I try to make a start just before dawn and start detecting at first light. Feeling a wee bit fatigued from the after effects of a nasty summer virus; I grabbed an extra hour or two in bed this morning and eventually made a start at 0600hrs.

I couldn't have asked for better weather and beach conditions. A retreating tide and plenty of dry sand gave me plenty to go at. I managed to winkle out a dozen or more .303 cartridges, one or two .30 cartridges, one 50cal cartridge in very good condition, a bag full of projectiles, and plenty of shrapnel. I was just bemoaning all the WWII scrap, when I recalled finding a gold signet ring in the same area that I was now detecting, and up popped a one pond coin.

By ten o'clock the sun was high and making progress rather difficult. It was far too hot for me to continue detecting and I threw the towel in and gave up. May give it a go again next week!

I didn't know you could make a post as a 'Guest' .  He sent me a message 2 days ago and he made no mention of anything amiss then.
Maybe he's had a senior moment and pressed the wrong button by mistake.   :-\

If we can't contact him, we can't ask can we.

Val

He would of deleted his account after he made the post, you can't accidentally press the wrong button as there is a "Are you sure" check ;)
