Post by: handyman [Alan} on May 01, 2010, 07:00:02 PM
An interesting day on a field i hadn't been on for over 2 years.

1st pic shows
horse harness mount
livery button with stags head
18 century button
roman grot
lead gaming counter
hammered silver groat -- not sure who but it may be henry 8th
bronze pot rims

and just  a small selection of the 40 or so bullets collected today.

any help id the hammered would be appreciated

Nice bell there Handyman. Congrats to Mrs H. Are there any makers marks on the bottom? (of the Bell, not Mrs H)

result of yesterdays little soiree - a convex/concave 130g piece of lead, 1 spindle whorl, 1 tiny whorl or lead bead [if there was such a thing], a nice medieval button and a crotal bell fragment.

all from the same field as the OP.

cheers
