out today found a few things found this brooch can anyone id what type? found this ring dont think its an olive as sides are shampered got more finds to put on do when i got time

i would say its almost certain to be a roman brooch.

It's a trumpet brooch, 1st to 2nd century AD.

Ring probably 19th century.

just wondering ,did the romans used to mount stones on there broaches as i found a broach a couple of weeks ago which resembles a dolphin broach but has  a sochet for stone on the main body and sockets on each arm .

Socket could be for enamel perhaps - got a picture?
