Went back to field to day,no roman! this time just a few buttons as shown.however did manage to winkle out a lead bag seal with the letter , A302 on it,also a rather sad looking hammered penny,a welcome find none the less, part of a broken brooch again and a bronze petal type mount.
I am beginning to wonder due to the fact these finds are just meteres from a railway line wether this is infact spoil from where they dug out the track and dumped into the field!, as can be seen from picture there is set aside  and it could be that i am on the edge of a roman dwelling, but  as the grass is long I have not been able to concentrate any meaningful searches in this part, In time this is something i will rectify and report back on.
(If there is a roman site near by I can not understand why they would settle next to a railway line ! but there again in those days it probably wasn't as busy i guess).
