Where am I?

« on: November 28, 2016, 12:21:11 PM »

Last Wednesday turned out to be a first for me, 3 Hammered in One outing. I managed two days off work and having not been out Mine Sweeping for ages I went for it. My attempt at ID of hammered coins is - 2 Lizzie Pennies and a Charles I Shilling.
I don't know what the item with trigger thingy is if anyone can shed any light on it, that would be good. Also could the other Item be part of Medieval Pot of some sort.

Thanks for taking a peep.

Well found wittsy. 3 in one outing, now that's being greedy. watch out Celtic, he's coming out in competition  Grin
No idea what the 'trigger' thing might be. Would have said something of a tractor but the pattern along the side says no. As you don't say how big it or the 'pot' part are it could be all sorts of things. What about a belt buckle ?

What a red letter day. Did manage 3 hammered in one day myself once but years ago. Good hunting.

Nice day out  Smiley

re the trigger item what is it like on the top side of it, my initial thought when I saw it is that it could be part of a simple crossbow trigger mechanism ? what size is it ?

Thanks all for your comments and thoughts. The trigger item is 4" long by 3/4" wide. The topside looks like this.

Even more convinced now I have seen the top side that it's a simple crossbow trigger mechanism..
