I for one will always stand up for my beloved hobby and am always prepared to view my opinion, which some people do not like. Post by: nobby on October 21, 2015, 08:59:21 AM hmmmmmm i think you're over egging the pudding a bit :-\.........its hardly rampant all over the country, like chef has mentioned before, there are more bellringers than detectorists ( perhaps the campanologists are discussing phantom night bell ringers as we speak ;D). Out of all the detectorists i know only one has openly admitted they have done it, and they have since sold up and no longer detects. Also when you compare crime against crime , it s hardly up there with house breaking, gun crime , murder etc...

With respect to the comment where you make a personal offensive jibe to all members of the DW forum, who you refer to as "smart arse" is not welcome and should be retracted. Everyone should be treated with respect, regardless. As for the issue re dealing with criminals and ideas put forward ... the only people who can change legislation are the lawmakers and any ideas put forward on the forum, should really be put to the elected members for consideration as part of the consultative process to dealing with the issue.
