had a spare day today so decided to do a mini round up from my first year.

Really enjoyed the year, began the hobby in February, with a Garrett Ace 250 to see if the hobby was for me. Took the plunge in May, and now use an XP Deus. Becoming a member of the North Wales Dirt Diggers was a huge step forward, thanks to each and every member of the club for your help and permission invites. Appreciate it greatly. Also thanks to danhunt (detect partner) for putting up with me lol. And last but not least, Detecting Wales and all of it's members for the help, i.d's and advice.

Standout days (there has been a lot) - the very first find i made (lead wheel balancing weight!), getting our first permission, finding first hammered coin, unknowingly finding a roman brooch (only found out once pics were on here!), crazy coin day (34 pre decimal coins, 10 silvers), finding first Roman silver Denarius (only knew it was silver after i.d on here!), and recently finding a Henry VIII sovereign penny.

Hoping for many more great times in 2014, and to unearth my first hammered coin on a club dig sits firmly on the top of my list!

Happy hunting and i hope you all get what you wish for in 2014.

Sharkey
