Title: Re: medallion 1902 Post by: Charles Cater on May 18, 2009, 03:48:53 PM A lovely medallion. It was struck to commemorate the crowning of King Edward VI in 1902. To make it cleare I had to click on the pic and found pic was a little too large to see properly, try and reduce the size if you can and repost it, I would like to see it as is..Probably South African
What a shame the silver has deteriorated, It was manufactured in Pewter and Silver added after. Well done mate. Title: Re: medallion 1902 Post by: ROMAN STEVE on May 18, 2009, 09:51:20 PM really nice find i got a coranation

Title: Re: medallion 1902 Post by: Chef Geoff on May 19, 2009, 04:02:43 PM I'm glad this thread started up, Lovely find by the way Mick, as I found a medallion a couple of months ago No where near the same quality, in fact it is so thin it looks as if it could of been mass produced by punching them from a sheet.
(http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv294/Chef_02/page1.jpg) Not too sure of the date, although under the microscope it could be 1902, the reverse is difficult to make out, but I think it shows two jockey's mounted just before a jump. Old Eddy liked the gee-gees. What do you guys think? Has anyone found or seen one before? Chef Title: Re: medallion 1902 Post by: DIG IT!
