Title: Re: Photographs for publishing
Post by: Charles Cater on November 02, 2008, 11:46:32 AM
I have looked at some of the photographs posted in the Galleries and I am sure with a little more care thay can be enhanced by the sender.

Take for instance the question of focus. If the photograph was taken with a digital camera, and what isn't these days, put the photograph on the screen of your computer first and look at what it is like. If it is fuzzy there is every likelyhood that the photograph was not taken in Macro.

What is Macro, well it enables you to use it to take closups of artefacts and coins and anything else you wish to take.If it is in Macro and still fuzzy take it again until you get it right.

Don't forget to take you photograph large, say, 1600 x 1200, you can always reduce it later but you cannot enlarge a photograph if it is small in the first place without losing pixels.

Then there is a neat bit of software in your setup menu mode. Look for a name called "White Balance" and see that it is set to "Preset" if you want to take a photograph in tungsten light or flourescent, full sun, cloudy, that sort of thing. Experinment and make yourself proud of your achievement, when evrything is correst then it is time to post..
You will see them all there waiting to serve you with the best for posting.

I have software on my computer that will do all that for me after the photograph is taken but I always like to do it at source first.

There is such a lot to learn about photography and I am no expert but I have learned a lot throughout the years I have been doing it.
Try it.
