found this today on one of my permissions on  farm land that dates back to to the late 1700s but the farmer recons the building i found it near is from medieval times?
theres also a bronze age burial within 100 metres of where it was found.
looks like a knife type letter opener to me but its the funky carvings on it that makes me think its older.....?

hilt off a bollock dagger ,named for obvious reasons ,now to find the dagger to go with it

Thats a lovely find - I'd be tempted to add a blade and try and reconstruct it.

such a dagger is likely to have a 3 cornered triangular blade in section

been back today for 2 hours and had no luck finding the blade or any other part of it  Angry
