I dismissed this find today to be just  a bit of fence wire, when I got it home and washed the find off I could see it had a definite scoop like feature on one end.

The field next door is well documented to be a Roman industrial site, now partly built on.

My first thoughts ear wax scoop but it looks to be a tad bit long?

I bit digging on the inter-web brought up a few more possibilities.

Your thoughts please.......................Doug

"Roman.

This type of object was a multi-purpose implement principally with toilet and cosmetic applications, which included the removal of wax from the outer ear and the extraction of unguents from slender container."

Thanks, yes I did see that come up on my own ID search but I was still not sure

I was just wondering if there were any other ideas from similar finds from forum members.
