Author Topic: Rallies 2010 Which do you think.  (Read 3026 times)

Our detecting club is thinking of running a bus to one of the Rallies but we have a choice and a half of where to go. Been researching the locations of some of them and it seems the furthest ones away have the better history to the ground. Brighton, Nettleton and Ely and Lightwater look interesting locations. Not to sure on the Spaxton, Welford and Chesterton rallies (Chesterton purely as its the fourth rally in that area) and the others as the land involves parkland and I never seem to find anything in Parkland. I for one don,t like the West Hanney WW rally simply for the size and past experience but you can not fault the social side of the event. So lots of pro,s and con,s for the club to ponder. Where are you folks keen to go and what looks interesting to you.

Ohhhhhh riiiiggghhhhhtt

Ive no idea where Walton basin is or even if its a real place name lol
When Paul mentioned St Davids this week i thought he was a West Walian

Ive got a complaint about Hay on Wye any way....
I took the 2nd Mrs Jones to Hay coz she,d never been and we was charged £7 50 for a Pint and a small glass of wine in a taven in the town centre
I wouldnt let her have another  hehehe

No I had a week down St Davids for a break Phil. You are lucky to get out alive only paying £7.50 Usually you have to pay a £10.00 deposit on the glass non refundable.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

We went in theyre beer garden behind the pub so they had us captive i guess thats why they didnt need a deposit
I did think about half inching the glass,s to get some of my money back  Tongue

On a plus point i wasnt mugged or beaten up like id have been in one of our local pubs lol

I'm quite tempted to go to the Spaxton rally as it's only down the road for me. I've never been but they always seem to get something interesting turn up.
