Author Topic: Plan B Today but well worth it  (Read 3815 times)

Was due out with Rob Tafflaff today but due to a clash in schedules will now go out on Friday instead. Plan B was put into action and spent some time near home at Gladestry near Hay-on-Wye. The day started bad when I realised I,d left me mobile at home as well so as I was by myself and if anything happened I had no contact with the outside world. At least the better half knew where I was. Returned to some fields that have been pasture for as long as can be remembered but I knew they had been ploughed for the War effort during the second world war. On my first visit I had found a Spanish hammered which I now know was from around the building of the Manor house previous to the current house in the 1500,s so imagine my surprise today when after a few Georgian buttons, a couple of post war three pences another field full of lead and surprisingly no ring pulls up turned this little gem. A 1571 Elizabeth 1 sixpence. Over the moon is a understatement.
