Well done Jase. I reckon most of the finds on those fields were 18th and 19th C so I'll take a punt and say the ring is 18th C.

Here is my best of the day.

Some sort of stud. A couple of  buckles, a Parys mountain Penny token, a spindle whorl, and a bent George 1/2/3? penny. I did have a very small possible Roman grot, but I lost it  Roll Eyes

my guess for the ring is 17th century  Grin

i found this info from an antique store selling a similar type of ring (one with continew spelt the same way):

This ring would date to before 1738 after which time the Assaying Act came into force. by which all gold and silver wedding rings were to be hallmarked. This act began the decline of the posy ring, which relied on valuable space for the inscription.

interesting, even if not true  Cool

well it's only taken 11 days  Shocked , but here are my finds from the club dig. the usual coppers, one of those pewter medal things (top right). the bag seal says sutton and sons (reading?). and as said, this bronze fragment looks to be a roman ring bezel, it did have a really nice green patina, but even after the most gentle of cleans it has started to go patchy.  Undecided see you in the new year
