Out with Roman Ray today after a kind offer from him to visit a new farm in the Magor/ Caldicot area.

Lovely weather most of the day and coins , albeit modern ones started pouring in. Had a few pre decimal including a George iii. penny , toward the middle of the afternoon I started woking my way towards an old gate and got an intermittent signal. Decided to dig go to about 9 inches down and Ray pointed out a largeish silver disc on the spoil heap. I thought it lookd like the back of a watch but instead it was a lovely condition (apart from the bend)  Elizabeth i Shilling, my first whole one and my second hammered off pasture.

Thanks Ray for a cracking Day mate.  Wink
