thanks guys, put some serious hours in though, just upgraded to a safari..sold the half guinea and a few others to fund it.
had a henry 8th penny last rally with it,takin some getting used to though...i realise ive identified the coins lol,was hoping maybe some of theartifacts could be identified.

the small silver coin/token/medal is apparantly of maximilian the first of bavaria 25th anniversary i believe,i posted it a while back on coin community and that was the feedback i had.

Funny enough it caught my eye, and I downloaded it to get it enhanced. It does look Roman, but to me it seemed to 'round' and had more of a milled edge. The denarius I've found tend to be convex in the body rather than flat.

Glad you posted the answer!

There you go, like I said it 'looked' like a denarius but I can see from the larger photo that it ain't.

Keep going old son, you'll get roman eventually, but stop looking in the same place as the stuff you have already found, go for somewhere the romans might have been or at least where they were trading.

If you find a gold aureus before I do though, be warned. I bite! They dont call me meat slicer for nothing you know

Eric.

Thats great going for 2 years. Well done - some nice finds there,

Love the George IV Half Crown and the French Louis 16th 2 Soms - both scarce detecting finds.

Great post and pictures.

Cheers
