I wonder what the difference is between American Gold and any body else's gold? I always thought Gold was Gold.

hi yankee...the ring is stamped with the numbers 585....when i looked it up it is, apparently, an american standard for 14 carat....i agree that gold is gold !... in the uk all gold and silver are "hallmarked"...that was the reason for my american description... Wink
