I would like to take this opportunity to wholeheartedly congratulate Nobby on finding
that rather nice chunk of 18ct gold on a farm I've detected on for 6 years and have
never found so much as a gold milk bottle top on.
It is with great pride and warmth that I stand and lead the hearty round of
applause, safe in the knowledge that he has proven to me that there was indeed
gold on the farm and that it existed in the shape and form of an 18ct gold watch. I
owe you one fella!
How silly I was to assume that I had actually detected that field so well that I could
be confident that any nice yellow shiny chunk of gold could actually be buried where
I had detected so many times prior to today.
I would also like to thank Nobby for not only bringing a huge smile to my face with
said gold, but also enthralling and thrilling me with the story about how after having
found the gold watch (18ct) that in the next but one hole he had gone on to find a
whole and rather stunning condition Henry iii voided long cross penny, by now I was
giggling like a mad man, so much that I in fact kicked said coin back into its hole
whilst ensuring I gave Nobby one or two good, firm slaps on the back in
'congratulations'.
Anyhow, a good day had by all who found gold and I look forward to detecting
again with Nobby so that he can once again show me the errors of my detecting and
delight me with the ever abundant finds below our feet on my farm where I evidently
missed a few nice pieces.
My turn next
