Title: Another sandy night Post by: Moncó on July 23, 2013, 11:14:23 AM Hi Guys & Girls
Another trip to the beach.... Still no gold.....but sods law, and just to rub salt in the wounds, I took a mate of mine to try out my new Euroace I bought in an auction, he has a 150 and I wanted to show him the difference... As soon as I got to the beach I turned on my G 2 after setting him up with the 350, no sooner had I pumped the machine for ground balance, he started shouting and dancing about....Fisst dig within minutes a lovely silver stone encrusted ring.... As expected I congratulated him ( gutted :tosser: ) and carried on..... I wanted to take advantage of the low tide and hit the wet sand....pull tabs, pull tabs and more pull tabs.... soon I had done all the wet sand so I headed to the dry area, about £ 15.oo in variuos coins and then..............A HIT........I found a ring, shining and yellow... But the metal detector gods are toying with me 8-/ 8-/ it was a copper bling ring....If that wasnt bad enough as I called my mate over to see the ring ( still thinking it was gold at this time ) he got a hit right near me.......... the stuffy B++*** another silver ring.... I must have been a right bad fellow in my past life.... ::) ::) ::) I need to invest in a Garrett sea hunter or an Excalibur II ;D (http://imageshack.us/a/img855/9985/gvim.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/a/img268/2342/rlqh.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/a/img692/7797/d8mw.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/a/img24/2377/2r03.jpg) Title: Re: Another sandy night Post by: Val Beechey on July 23, 2013, 12:28:00 PM Why mend it when it aint broke. :D
You seem to be doing well enough with the detector you've got. Remember what they say about a fool and his money soon being parted. That's a fantastic nights detecting. Enough to make most here a bit green with envy. Val heheheheh Your quite right what you say, the teknetics G 2 is suprissingly brilliant on wet sand, but the build quality is my worry, its not water tight if I drop it whilst in the wash, game over, and the fine sand aswell... No doubt that the water tight machines are the tool for the job, as wel as being a Pulse Induction to get down to that hard pack sand for the heavier yellow metal....... Knowing my luck, fishing weights..heehheh |
