Does anyone know anything about the origins of names  ??

I'm interested in the name VATSON and where it may have come from.  I've just noticed that part of my new permission fields are referred to on an old map as Vatsons Moor. It's not a name I've come across before.

Its not a printing error is it and supposed to be Watsons ?

Your guess is as good as mine Rob.  It says Vatson on the Cassini Historical Map I've got and  it says the same on the Old Maps of Britain  on the Vision of Britain Through Time site.
