Title: Coins or Medals ?? Post by: Val Beechey on September 28, 2016, 05:51:49 PM Found these two on my last outing and haven't got a clue what they are. Are they coins or maybe medals, commemorative or fakes.
No sign of fastenings or hangers. There seems to be a shield with something above it on the back of the 'Picassa' design copper.The one on the right is gilded and seems very ornate on the back. I had an idea I'd seen something like the copper before with different trades depicted in the 'boxes' but it was a long time ago. The coat of arms on the shilling nearly drove me crackers. Peter I think it is the one you gave me a link to. I can clearly see a figure in the top right hand 'box' . Would be interesting to know how it got down here. |
