could you be so kind as to point me to a couple of places that i could go and get some time in near Builth Wells if possable,

Not easy Dave but detecting goes on. Forget Llandod as it has been hammered but you might get some joy up Builth Road or over Newbridge as I am not aware of any detecting over there. Good luck with your search.

thanks for that its a start,vthe hard bit is knowing where to look, and reading the signs if theres such a thing? its veryhard when your starting a new hobby on your own, you tend to find the pit falls first,

any given field no one really knows what might be beneath the top turf. Find a local farm and ask for permission, be polite. Alot of the time the roman settlement areas have been detected to death !

Surprising results can come off random fields, the thrill of the hobby  ;D
