Hereford searchers would like to thank all of you who attended or supported the Hereford Searchers Hospice Rally event last weekend, every penny raised has gone directly to the Hospice.
It was a very chilly day, but it was amazing that over 175 people turned out to support the Hospice. In excess of £3500 raised on the day.
Finds were quite sparse, but some hammered coins did show up, seven Roman Brooches were found in total, one of which was a rare variety previously unknown from the county, an Emporer Trajan Silver Denarius coin and a fragment of an Iron Age axehead. So not a bad day in all and worth the effort.
We are indebited to the sponsors (Nokta, Fisher, Minelab, Joan Allen, Whites, Black ADA, Crawfords, Greenlight Publishing, Regton and Hereford Forklift Trucks along with various other individuals and companies) for the great raffle prizes and of course the landowner who has asked us to hold a similar event next year, on other fields, in aid of Birmingham Children's Renal Unit, more details nearer the time.
We hope that you had an enjoyable day out and thank you once again for your kind support.
Regards,
Hereford Metal Detecting Society.
