Title: Re: Small Bronze object Post by: Val Beechey on September 04, 2019, 02:44:30 PM Don’t know but I’d say it was def worth recording if for no other reason than to get a proper ID.
It’s certainly very old, almost Zoomorphic which might put age as early as late 5th cent. Let us know if you get any info 👍 p.s. you’ll need some better pics. The ones above are out of focus ;) Title: Re: Small Bronze object Post by: Greg on September 04, 2019, 09:26:04 PM Thanks Val, took photos with phone, I thought it might be quite old due to the Patina.
Now that someone else thinks it’s interesting will take some better shots and show it to our FLO. Title: Re: Small Bronze object Post by: nobby on September 04, 2019, 09:31:09 PM Cant really make it out, but could be a knife pommel
Title: Re: Small Bronze object Post by: Greg on September 17, 2019, 09:39:35 AM FLO said it was a Roman casket handle end (whatever that means).
Title: Re: Small Bronze object Post by: Val Beechey on September 17, 2019, 08:16:26 PM You’re as wise as me Greg ! I’d settle for that though. It’s Roman, what more can we ask for ;D
